...Next is Capo Ferrato, where the endless white beach of Costa Rey starts, with its many tourist resorts. The enchanting coastline, with its sequence of small coves, bays and beaches, may be followed as far as Villasimius, a famous tourist resort, surrounded by an enchanting sea and facing the small islands Dei Cavoli and Serpentara.Following the interior road back to Bresca Dorada, we drive through the territory of Castiadas, which comprises various localities, small farming settlements where the main activities are vine growing and vegetable and fruit cultivation. Interesting sights in the town of Castiadas include the 19th century Penal Colony, of harmonious architectural proportions and currently undergoing extensive restoration, and various other buildings, among which we should mention the villa which housed the Colony's administration: nowadays, in the month of August, the large park that surrounds the villa hosts an open-air market and fair of handicrafts and food products of the area.
